Hurry up buyers! Count down to end of tax credit!

Only 49 days left to search, locate and obtain an accepted offer on a home, before the tax credit deadline!

Some key items to remember:

Deadline: Buyer must have a written binding contract to purchase in effect by April 30, 2010 and closing must happen before July 1, 2010.

Eligibility: First time home buyer may not have had an interest in a principal residence for 3 years prior to purchase. Current homeowner must have used the home sold or being sold as a principal residence consecutively for 5 of the previous 8 years.

Tax credit: up to $8000. for first time home buyer up to $6500. for current homeowner.

Collection of donations.

As the agents set out to pickup the much needed donations for the food drive, we were so pleasantly surprised! As bag after bag came marching into our training room, the generosity of our community was slowly unfolding. By days end, our room was packed with very little walking room. Food Lion bags covered every surface, chair and existing floor space. The Salvation Army was called in as well as Channel 12 news to cover the awesome story. Through the generous donations of our community, we were able to pack a large truck full of well over 700 bags of non-perishable food. We are so blessed to live in a community where caring people give of themselves and are willing to help those less fortunate.

National Keller Williams Food Drive

Our local Keller Williams ®Realty, in joint effort with local Food Lion stores, are participating in a National Keller Williams® Realty Food Drive in the coming weeks. Our agents will be delivering 2000+ donated grocery bags to area residents in New Bern, Havelock, Oriental and surrounding areas with information about the Food Drive, asking for their donations.
The agents and their volunteers will then be picking up the bags of donated food and delivering it to our local food banks. (The Salvation Army and Religious Community Services.) Delivery is slated for the morning of November 19th. In lieu of the recent televised request for our local Salvation Army’s replenishment of food banks, I thought this is very noteworthy news. Our intent is to help those in need especially during this Thanksgiving week.

Havelock Chili Festival

A great time was had by all estimated 25,000 in the annual Havelock Chili Festival this past weekend. The Keller Williams Realty booth was hoppin', while raising money for local charities.
Several of the agents at Keller Williams donated their time and supplies and made chili to sell.
Others lended their talents to scoopin' and pushin' chili, all for a great cause. Stay tuned to hear all the details as they unfold.
